We're all pretty messed up...
We're all pretty messed up. One way or another. It's our parents' fault. But guess what. They're messed up too. And that's their parents' fault. It's a vicious cycle. Once we have children we'll do the same thing to them. Even though we swear we won't make the same mistakes our parents did. I'm not saying we have bad parents. I love my parents very much but I'm pretty messed up because of them. I don't know why this happens. I can't figuire out an upside to this "phenomenon". Maybe so that we learn that our parents are people too with real emotions and they make mistakes too. Maybe it's so that we learn to take care of them when they mess up or when they're down. Because as we all get older the roles will be reversed. We'll be the ones taking care of them. And if we had a perfect image of them in our heads, that they're indestructible maybe we won't be there for them the same way because we think they don't need us that much. "They'll be fine, they always are" instead of thinking "I should go help that poor sucker out, he couldn't even ever remember to pick me up from school on time. How can he remeber to feed himself." I don't know. Maybe life's just messed up all around. But don't be so hard on your parents for making mistakes because they're the way they are because of the mistakes their parents made with them. And you shouldn't be judging when you'll probably do the same thing a few years from now. Some people break the cycle. And children, that is the story of how serial killers are born. They have too much spare time on their hands with their perfect parents that they have time to come up with some messed up shit. So thank you mommy and daddy for making mistakes so that I could grow up to be a nurse instead of a serial killer. So yeah, we're all pretty messed up but I for one say thank god for that!
